Destination services in the United States

USA destination agent services, from arrival to final delivery

When cargo lands in the U.S., someone has to act on the arrival notice, clear it, collect it and deliver it. We do that for logistics companies abroad and keep you updated at every step.

You keep your customer relationship. We handle the agreed U.S. operations.

Destination services

Each shipment gets only the steps it needs. You decide where our work starts and ends.

  • Arrival notice follow-up

We track the arrival, confirm charges and documents, and make sure nothing waits on a reply.

  • Release and delivery order

We arrange release with the carrier, terminal or airline and get the delivery order for pickup.

  • Customs clearance

We handle U.S. customs clearance before pickup and can deliver fully customs-cleared.

  • Pickup

Container, airport or LTL pickup to our warehouse or straight to the consignee.

  • Receiving and checks

Counts against the packing list, visible damage photographed, and any shortage or damage reported to you.

  • Final delivery

Parcel, LTL, pallet or full truckload delivery anywhere in the U.S., with proof of delivery.

Abanro handles U.S. customs clearance and can deliver your customers' shipments fully customs-cleared. We can act as importer of record in eligible cases.

What a destination agent does

A destination agent represents the forwarder in the import country. In the U.S. that covers everything between arrival and the consignee's door: the arrival notice, destination charges, customs and carrier release, pickup and delivery. Most delays come from a document, a payment or an appointment that nobody followed up.

Abanro follows up all of it for you. We handle customs clearance, arrange pickup from the port, receive the freight in Southern California and deliver it or keep it in storage. Our guide on how U.S. customs clearance works answers the questions your customers will ask.

Who it's for

  • Forwarders abroad without their own U.S. destination office
  • Agents covering the U.S. for a network who need a reliable counterpart
  • Logistics companies serving brands that import into the U.S. for the first time
  • Carriers and NVOCCs that want delivery beyond the terminal for their customers

What to send us first

  • Bill of lading or air waybill and the arrival notice
  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Consignee and delivery address, with any appointment or dock requirements
  • Who pays duties and destination charges

Common problems we prevent

Arrival notices left unanswered

Charges and documents get settled late, and free time runs out. We act on them during U.S. business hours.

No importer of record

Release stalls when nobody can act as importer. We check whether we can take that role, in eligible cases.

Delivery appointments

Warehouses and retailers book dock times. We schedule them and keep the cargo ready, or store it until then.

From arrival to delivery

  1. Documents

You send the shipping documents and instructions before arrival.

  2. Clearance and release

We clear customs and arrange the carrier release.

  3. Pickup

We collect the cargo from the terminal, airport or CFS.

  4. Delivery or storage

We deliver to the consignee or store the goods until they are needed.

  5. Report

You get proof of delivery, photos and charges.

Questions

What is a destination agent in the U.S.?

The forwarder's representative at destination. It follows the arrival, handles clearance and release, and arranges pickup and delivery to the consignee. We do this for logistics companies abroad.

Can you act as importer of record?

In eligible cases, yes. We review the goods and documents first. If we cannot, we tell your customer what they need.

Do you only cover Los Angeles and Long Beach?

We work from Southern California, close to Los Angeles, Long Beach and LAX, and deliver to any address in the U.S.

How do you report to us?

Through Abanro Workspace and by email: arrival, release, receipt with photos, delivery and charges.

Do you handle duties and destination charges?

Yes, as part of the release. We agree with you who pays for each shipment. Duties and government charges are passed through at cost.
